Com. Chakravarthula Raghavachari is No More
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement condoling the demise of veteran CPI leader Chakravarthula Raghavachari on October 28, 2019:
With deep sorrow and grief, the National Council of the Communist Party of India announces the death of Com Chakravarthula Raghavachari, veteran journalist, well known intellectual, prominent leader of the Communist Party of India. He passed away with age-related problems, where he breathed his last on today morning.
Most popular student’s leader of AISF state President he started with his political journey and became very prominent leader of CPI. He was a highly respected journalist and former editor of Vishalandra Telugu paper. A senior journalist, Raghavachari served as the editor of Vishalandra for 30 years, which he took over in 1972 and continued till 2005. He also served as chairman of the CPI State Control Commission and as a member of the CPI National Control Commission.
His contribution to the progressive journalism was immense. His way of life, his commitment to the cause of downtrodden people and his strong editorial made him a symbol of progressive journalism.
In his death our Party has lost one of its tireless leaders. He will be remembered by the people of Andhra and Telangana for his immense contribution to progressive and democratic movement of the both states.
The CPI National Council expresses its sincere condolences to his family and to the party members of the both states.
