CPI Condoles Death of Com. Duti Krushna Panda
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement condoling the demise of veteran CPI leader Duti Krushna Panda:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India expresses its condolences at the death of Com. Duti Krushna Panda, a veteran leader of CPI in Odisha on Sunday the 5th May.
Com. D.K. Panda was 97 and died to old age related problems at Bhubaneswar. He was a former member of Lok Sabha from Bhanjanagar (Presently Aska) Parliament constituency in 1971 and got elected as Member of Legislative Assembly in 1990 from Aska seat.
Com. D.K. Panda served the people in different capacities. He was a secretary of CPI state council, president of AITUC, founder president of Odisha Anganwadi Workers’ Association and also many other trade unions.
Com. D.K. Panda was a writer of many books.
Com. Panda’s body was brought to party office at Bhubaneswar where senior party leaders like Dibakar Naik, State secretary Ashis Kanungo, Rama Krushna Panda and others paid homage. The body was taken to Aska for funeral.
The National Secretariat pays its homage to Com. D.K. Panda and sends its condolences to members of his family and party members of Odisha.
