CPI Condoles Death of Com. Madhavrao Gaikwad
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on November 13, 2018, condoling the death of party leader Com. Madhavrao Gaikwad:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India expresses its deep sorrow at the death of former national council member of the Party and former State Secretary of the CPI Maharashtra. Com. Madhavrao Gaikwad was elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly twice and he was opposition leader in the assembly. He was a freedom fighter.
Com Gaikwad, a well known leader of the farmers, also headed the Manmad Municipal Council and fought for many years for the welfare of farmers. He was known for honesty and simple living.
He died at the age of 94 on November 12.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
The Party sends its condolences to the state council of the Party and also to the members of the bereaved family.
