CPI Condoles Death of Dr. Girish Mishra
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement condoling the demise of Dr. Girish Mishra on April 27, 2019:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India expresses deep condolences at the death of Dr. Girish Mishra—An economic historian, teacher and author. He breathed his last on 27th April, 2019.
Dr. Girish Mishra was an eminent scholar economist, economic historian, a dedicated teacher and an author of repute. He penned over a dozen books, both in English and Hindi, in addition to regular writings on matters of contemporary issues. Dr. Girish Mishra taught and profoundly influenced many generations of students at Kirorimal College, Delhi University. The Left press in general and the CPI journals and magazines in particular would miss his clear, simple and straight forward analyses of the complex phenomena occurring around us. His role as an active member of the Party Economists Group would be fondly remembered. His continued active association with the movement for secularism would be greatly missed in the present challenging times.
Dr. Girish Mishra was the youngest son of Shri Bibhuti Mishra MP and freedom fighter.
