CPI Condoles Demise of Social Activist Swami Agnivesh
Communist Party of India general secretary D Raja paid homage today (on September 12, 2020) to Swami Agnivesh at his Jantar Mantar office in Delhi, where the social activist body was kept for the public to pay their final respects. Raja paid on behalf of the Party floral tributes to the departed activist. He was accompanied by Party’s Delhi state council secretary Dinesh Varshney.
Expressing his sorrow and grief to all his followers present there, Raja recalled that Swamiji was a very good friend of CPI and the left movement in India. He was a great crusader against bonded labour, who always fought against communalism and stood with secular and democratic forces. Though the right reactionaries attacked him many times, he continued his fight for a pluralistic India. Raja added that he will also be remembered for his steadfast fight to safeguard Indian Constitution and its secular character.
