CPI Condoles Sudden Demise of Bihar State Secretary Com Satya Narayan Singh – Infected by COVID-19

Communist Party of India general secretary D RAJA issued the following statement today (August 3, 2020) condoling the sudden demise of Bihar Party state council secretary Comrade Satya Narayan Singh due to COVID-19 infection:
Communist Party of India general secretary D Raja expressed the party’s and his heartfelt condolences at the sad and sudden demise of Party national executive member and secretary of Bihar state council Comrade Satya Narayan Singh. His death has caused a great loss for the left and democratic movement in general and the CPI in particular, at a time when the state to go in for its assembly elections. He was suffering from COVID-19 and was hospitalised. Unfortunately the deadly Covid-19 corona pandemic took his life on August 02, 2020 at 9 p.m. in AIIMS, Patna.
He was born in 1942 at village Dewka Kaithi in Khagaria district of Bihar. His father's name was late Dwarika Prasad Singh and mother's name was late Panchmukhi Devi. He had six brothers, two sisters, one son and four daughters. All the daughters are happily married and the only son Ankit Kumar is a doctor.
He had his primary education in a village school, secondary education at zilla school Monghyr, college education at TNB college, Bhagalpur and he had his post-graduate education in Bhagalpur University. He also got LLB degree from the same university. Subsequently he worked as a lecturer in Jagjivan Ram College, Jamalpur, Monghyr for a short period and also practised as a lawyer at Khagaria court.
However, he resigned his lecturership and abandoned his law practice in 1968 to join the CPI. Later on he became a whole-timer of the party. He came to the party fold through the AISF and later became a valiant fighter for the cause of the toiling masses in various forms and capacities. He became a popular leader of the party in that area so much so that he was elected Mukhia of his gram panchayat in1969 and continued in that post continuously for twenty years.
In 1980 he was elected Pramukh of the block panchayat samiti. He was elected an MLA on CPI ticket in 1990 and also in 1995.
He served the party and All India Kisan Sabha in various capacities. He roase from the district secretary of the party to the state secretary and to the national executive through his dedication, commitment and sacrifice. He also worked as the general secretary of Bihar Rajya Kisan Sabha before taking over the reins of the Bihar party in
2015. He was just to complete his second term as state secretary of the Bihar party in a few months.
The Party sends its condolences to the bereaved members of his family and the members of the Bihar party. As soon as the news reached the party general secretary, he contacted his son, party leaders and expressed his heart-felt condolences to them.
