CPI Congratulates Farmers on Their Historic Victory
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement today (December 10, 2021) congratulating the farmers and their unions on the success of their 378 days long agitation:.
The Communist Party of India expresses its hearty congratulations to the farmers of India and their unions on the historic success of their 378 days long relentless struggle against the anti-farmer and anti-people farm laws and other anti-farming moves. No doubt Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) did play a commendable role in leading the agitation as well as in forcing the government finally to accept the genuine pro-farmer demands.
The National Secretariat reiterates its stand that in a democratic setup only negotiations and taking into confidence all the stake holders through proper consultations alone will bring desired results and take the country forward. It is high time that the RSS-BJP led government realises this fact and gives up its authoritarian and arrogant attitude towards people’s genuine problems.
The Party is certain that the government has hurt not only the farmers but all the democratic minded people of the country by its adamant and negligent attitude and this will get reflected in the forthcoming assembly elections as farmers and their families will never be able to forgive the ruling regime and its leaders for all the sufferings they underwent during the last 378 days.
We all congratulate all those organisations of workers, youth, students, women, who extended all support and solidarity to the agitating farmers. The support extended by political parties too deserves a special mention on this occasion of victorious march.
