CPI Decries Discrimination towards Indian MPs, Leaders
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement condemning the Indian government’s discriminating attitude in denying permission to political leaders and MPs of our country to visit J&K while granting the same to MPs from European Parliament:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly condemns the discriminating attitude of the RSS-controlled BJP led by Narendra Modi in denying permission to Indian Parliamentarians and political leaders to visit Jammu and Kashmir while allowing 27 members of parliament from European Union to visit the Union Territory. It is only the other day a US Congressmen was also denied permission.
The partisan attitude of the Indian government smacks of ulterior motives as the MPs now allowed to visit J&K, who are on a private visit, are known to have rightwing views. Therefore it is not just a coincidence that the Prime Minister found time to meet the MPs on private visit.
The Party urges the central government to take all steps towards bringing normalcy in J&K and end the partisan attitude of the government in selective permission to visit the Union Territory.
