CPI Deplores PM’s Speech in Kerala
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on January 16, 2019:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India deplores the speech of the Prime Minister in a public meeting in Kerala. Mr Narendra Modi, forgetting that he is the prime minister of India, stooped to such a level to accuse communists and the LDF government in Kerala. Whatever Mr Modi said in his speech is not just an assault on communists, it is an assault on the Constitution, composite culture and diverse history of India. It is RSS-BJP combine which tries to redefine Indian Nationhood by rewriting history and to impose “Hindutva” which is Indian version of fascism.
CPI appeals to all secular democratic forces to stand up in defence of the Constitution and to reject the stand of prime minister with all contempt it deserves.
