CPI Expresses Deep Concern on the Death of New Born Infants
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on January 02, 2020:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India expresses its deep sorrow on the death of new born infants in Kota hospital in Rajasthan. It also expresses it deep anguish as these deaths are due to negligence on the part of medical personnel and government which has failed to maintain proper infrastructure in the hospital. We are reminded of similar incident which took place in Gorakhpur hospital, and yet governments fail to learn and take appropriate measures to avoid such tragic incidence. The lack of investment in health sector to maintain and improve infrastructure and to make medical personnel accountable is the need of the hour.
Health is a state and centre subject hence both governments should work in co-ordination to improve health administrator and not indulge in blame game.
CPI demands that at least 6 per cent budget allocation be made for health in coming years.
