CPI Extends Support to Farmers’ ‘Black Day’ Protest on May 26
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement today (on May 20, 2021) extending all support and solidarity to farmers’ agitational plan, including ‘Black Day’ protest on May 26:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India extends its support and solidarity to the intensified agitational plan of the farmers. On May 26, 2021 the agitation programme will complete six months and that day will be observed as ‘Black Day’ by farmers.
It is condemnable that the Modi government remains adamant and insensitive not to listen to the problems of the farmers. CPI reiterates its demand that the government must repeal the three controversial agri laws immediately and hold discussions with the leaders of farmers and other stakeholders.
The Party urges its state units and mass organisations to continue their support to the farmers and ensure that the new agitational plan including Black Day on May 26 gets maximum mass support.
