CPI on Attack on Nirankari Congregation
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement to the press on the November 20, 2018:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India condemns and expresses its deep concern about the recent attack on Nirankari congregation in Amritsar, Punjab in which three people died and many were injured.
The chief minister of Punjab has alleged this is an attempt by ISI, Pro-Khalistani forces and religious fundamentalists to recreate social unrest in the state. Whereas some others are saying that it is clash between two religious fractions. Hence the situation should be diffused by doing prompt investigations and taking appropriate and immediate action against the perpetrators of this attack and appeals to all to maintain peace and work for social harmony.
