CPI on Proposed National Recruitment Agency

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued today (on August 20, 2020) the following statement on the proposed National Recruitment Agency:

The National Recruitment Agency was initially proposed by the government of India in the Union Budget, 2020. Now, the Union Cabinet has approved setting up of National Recruitment Agency that will conduct common eligibility test for non-gazetted Group B and Group C posts.

This is a cruel joke as the government has abolished millions of vacancies over the years from getting filled up. The policy of the government has been to outsource and introduce Fixed Term Employment. Way back in 2014, when the BJP government came to power, they have assured in their election manifesto that two crore jobs would be created every year. But, there has been loss of jobs due to demonetisation in late 2016 and subsequently owing to wrongful policies pursued by the government. When millions of young graduates are seeking permanent jobs, the government has brought about Fixed Term Employment.

Now due to Corona pandemic, crores of people have already lost their jobs and livelihood and without generation of employment in the government sector, which is the duty of the government of India, mere creation of National Recruitment Agency for Common Eligibility Test for government jobs is nothing but an eyewash to befool the people of the country especially the unemployed youth.
