CUT IN PETROL-DIESEL PRICES TOO LATE, TOO LITTLE: CPI
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India condemns the negligibly small cut in the price of petrol and diesel:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India condemns in severest terms a joke played on the people of India in the festival month by the Union Finance Minister and RSS controlled Narendra Modi government by announcing a negligibly small cut of Rs. 2.50 on the prices of petrol and diesel. The reduction is too late and too little.
The party wants to state here that some of the states including Kerala have already reduced the state levy on petroleum products by Rs. 2. Instead of asking the states to cut the levy by another Rs.2.50, the government should have effected meaningful reduction.
The party reiterates its stand that the Modi government should withdraw the nine times hike it brought in after coming to power which fetched the central government Rs 3 lakh crore. The party also demands to reintroduce the administered price mechanism in fixing the price of petroleum products.
