India Should Quit Quad Alliance in Protest: CPI

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India has issued the following statement today (on April 12, 2021):

Communist Party of India expresses its serious concern about the American Seventh Fleet warship’s blatant intrusion into India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) waters off the coast of Lakshadweep violating international law and the sovereignty of our country.

Moreover, the arrogant statement of the Seventh Fleet exposes its intentions not to respect the long-standing India’s maritime claims.

At the same time the response of the Indian government is very weak. It shows once again in the name of strengthening its role in the Indo-Pacific, it became a junior partner to the US and serving the American interests in Indo-Pacific by joining the Quad alliance.

We are very clear about the strategic aim of US imperialist in Indo-Pacific region to control the vast unimaginable wealth of mineral resources and for that US can go to any extent which will ultimately jeopardize the peace and stability of this region.

India will be forced to act on the dictates of the US administration as it already signed various defence deals with the US that are detrimental to our country.

Communist Party of India strongly demands that to safeguard our sovereignty and self-respect it should come out from the Quad alliance.
