The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on October 4, 2018:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India notes with serious concern that the issue of Rafale deal has become murkier and murkier. There is enough evidence to show that the government of India, Prime Minister and PMO are involved in the scandal.

The party draws the attention of one and all towards the claim of the government that the Rafale deal comes under secrecy agreement. However, the President of France says now that the price can be openly announced and he has no objection. The price is three times more than the earlier one, according to the French company.

Besides, the former President of France, Mr. Hollande has said that Indian government has proposed Reliance of Anil Ambani as Indian partner for Rafale manufacturing in India. The government denies it. But why then did Prime Minister Modi take Anil Ambani with him and not HAL representatives when the deal was signed? Why were Defence Minister and External Affairs Minister not with the prime minister at that time?

Also one wonders why HAL, which is a competent public sector company was kept out and Anil Ambani who has no experience was chosen by Modi. Is it not encouraging crony capitalism? Whether some commissions are changed hands in the deal? Hence there is a need for JPC for a thorough enquiry.

The CPI and other left parties met on October 2, 2018 at New Delhi and decided to organise a national convention on Rafale on October 24, 2018 at Mavlankar Hall, Constitution Club of India, demanding Joint Parliamentary Committee to investigate into Rafale deal. On this occasion the National Secretariat of the CPI calls upon all its units to organise meetings, seminars, processions, demanding JPC probe on Rafale deal on the same day that is on October 24, 2018.
