On Jharkhand Lynching
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on June 26, 2019:
The National Secretariat of Communist Party of India strongly condemns the incidents of lynching in Jharkhand and Gau Rakshak beating two men in Haryana and demands the strict action must be taken against perpetrations of this crime. A young man died due to injuries of inhuman beating a whole night and forcing him to chant “Jai Shri Ram and Jai Hanuman”.
It is more shocking that the youth was arrested instead of hospitalization, and sent to jail. He died due to head injury.
Government was quick enough to reject report of religious discrimination and harassment made by some countries but fails to control the increasing incidents of lynching by cow vigilantes. It is also to be noted that on the background of increasing incidents of lynching the crime record bureau fails to keep separate records of such incidents to hide the reality. CPI demands that this defect must be rectified. Unless government take cognizance of religious fanaticism involved behind such cases and takes concrete steps to curb the culprits such incidents will not stop.
CPI appeals to the people to remember the glorious heritage of tolerance that we inherit and stop people involved in such crimes to build a harmonious and inclusive India.
