CPI Condoles Demise of Com Shantatai Ranade

Com Shantatai Ranade was 93 and died in Pune. She was a freedom fighter and was jailed several times. She was also a member of National council of Communist Party of India and president of state unit of NFIW. She wrote for Yugantar weekly and also translated books from Russian and was awarded Soviet land prize. She was active social worker and associated with many social organizations and always participated in progressive democratic moments and supported activists. Her death is a great loss for the party and social movements. National secretariat and state secretariat of Communist Party of India expresses its heartfelt condolences.
