Withdraw Expulsion of Wardha Students

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India has issued the following statement:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly condemns the expulsion of six students by the authorities of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Viswa Vidyalaya in Wardha, Maharashtra for conducting a dharna and writing a letter to Prime Minister Modi on public issues, by invoking the Model Code of Conduct now in force for the assembly elections.

It is really strange that citing the Model Code of Conduct, which is in fact meant to cover the election campaign, is being fraudulently made use of inside a campus. The victimization of students by the University authorities is undemocratic and has to be condemned by all who believe in the freedom of expression.

The Party demands immediate cancellation of the expulsion of the students.
