Withdraw the Decision to Privatise Air IndiaWithdraw the Decision to Privatise Air India

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on August 31, 2019:

Government of India has declared that it will privatise Air India. The crisis and closure of Jet Airlines and King Fisher air lines are examples of deep structural crisis in Air line sector. Privatising Air India is no solution. The BJP government has decided to sell public assets and raise money which is detrimental to long term national interests. While opposing this disastrous move and supporting the unions and employees protesting against the government’s decision, the CPI demands that the government should withdraw its decision and take positive measures to strengthen Air India.
