The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India has condemned the harassment suffered by the Bengali speaking Indian citizens at the hands of police and administration in the BJP rule states particularly in Delhi, Assam and Odisha, etc. Under the pretext of identifying illegal migrants from Bangladesh, Bengali speaking Indian citizens, particularly Muslims are being harassed and arrested by police, this is typical of a fascist state. The CPI deplores such actions and demands immediate stoppage of this harassment and give compensation and justice to the Bengali speaking Indian citizens.
