The Communist Party of India is deeply saddened by the passing of Comrade Azizul Haque, a lifelong revolutionary who dedicated his entire life to the cause of the oppressed and the working class. Com. Haque joined the CPI in 1959 amidst the fervour of the first food movement and went on to become a fearless student and peasant leader. After the split of CPI, he joined CPI (M) and later on CPI (ML).
He has been many times in jail for his role in organising the peasantry and for the marginalized sections of the society made him as a courageous and principled fighter. His years in prison, his ideological evolution, and his continued contribution as a committed intellectual are testament to his unwavering spirit and revolutionary integrity.
Comrade Azizul Haque remained steadfast in his commitment to the people’s struggle until his last breath. The CPI salutes his memory and legacy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, comrades, and all those inspired by his life.
