Shri. NARENDRA MODI Hon’ble Prime Minister Union of India
Respected Prime Minister,
Sub: IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION & ACTION AGAINST K. SURENDRAN, Kerala State President of BJP.
We, the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) are writing this to bring to your notice a serious issue of insulting women by the Kerala State President of BJP K. Surendran.
On Sunday 26 th March 2023, a convention was held in Thrissur, Kerala, with the purpose of constituting a Reception Committee for the STHREE SHAKTI SAMMELAN as part of G20 SUMMIT. Mr. Surendran inaugurated this convention
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Surendran said “women leaders of the Communist Party have become fat by looting money" and “after becoming fat like Poothana, they are insulting the women of Kerala."
NFIW views these comments which are sexually coloured, aimed at body shaming and insulting the modesty of women, as an attack not only on those who belong to any particular political party, but the entire country. We deplore Mr Surendran's anti-women comments.
We have no doubt that Mr Surendran's words will tarnish the image and prestige of our country which is going to host the G20 Summit in a few months from now. You being the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the current chair of the G-20, we request you to urgently initiate appropriate action against Mr. Surendran.
Yours Sincerely
Aruna Roy Annie Raja Arunaroy@gmail.com anniedraja@gmail.com
