TL;DR: INDIA Bloc heavyweightsâCPIâs D.âŻRaja, LoP Rahul Gandhi, Bihar LoP Tejashwi Yadav, CPI(M)âs M.A. Baby & CPI(ML)âs Dipankar Bhattacharyaâled thousands in Patna to protest the Election Commissionâs Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, calling it âVOTEBANDI.â Oppn says it targets poor, migrants, Dalits & OBCs, risking democratic rights before assembly elections đžđ¨

đŠ SIR = Vote Bandi, say INDIA Bloc leaders
Oppn alleges SIR is a plot to remove crores of poor voters just ahead of the elections. Tejashwi warned this âvote manipulationâ follows the Maharashtra modelâa replica of rigging tactics witnessed recently.
đĽ âChakka Jamâ Protest in Bihar
On July 9, a coordinated bandh halted roads and railways in Patna, Darbhanga, Madhubani & beyond. Protesters burnt tyres, blocked train tracks, demanding the EC rescind the SIR exercise, branding it ageist and anti-poor. CPI(ML)L worker Kishun Pandit said EC is "following the whims of the BJP" and trying to sabotage democracy.
â Whoâs marching?
Speakers on stage included Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, CPIâs D.âŻRaja, CPI(M)'s M.A. Baby, CPI(ML)âs Dipankar Bhattacharya & VIPâs Mukesh Sahani, showing unity across left & INDIA Bloc. This mass push marks a resurgence of pro-people politics.
âď¸ Supreme Court jumps in
The SC refused to halt SIR but asked EC to include aadhaar, voter ID & ration card as valid docsâpushing EC to ease burdens on poor & migrants. Next hearing set for July 28.
đ Numbers tell a story
Over 7.9 crore voters in Bihar
SIR allegedly aims to remove 3â5%, targeting marginal constituencies
Losing just 10 names per booth = 3,200 votesâcould shift multiple seats
Over 35 lakh names flagged so far
đď¸ INDIA Bloc Strategy
Tejashwi has threatened a July 19 INDIA Bloc meet at Delhi to intensify action. INDIA & Left are ready to fight in Parliament & streets for fairness.
đŹ CPI Youth Verdict
From the ground, this isn't just protestâit's a kranti moment! Young workers and farmers fear losing voice and benefits. When democracy is at stake, working-class unity is the only road ahead. This protest shows that if you try to hijack the ballot box, youâll be met by kolu-peelu (full resistance) from common people! â
